1970 Guild F 30 Aragon
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.Год назад
Just got a 1970 Guild F-30 "Aragon" acoustic. Fantastic guitar with a very powerful midrange and clear sound. Every note pops. Auditorium sized body like a Martin 000. Has characteristics that put it somewhere between a Martin and Gibson in tonal quality. Definitely a guitar worth checking out and Guilds are a great value in the vintage market. Built like tanks!
Tribute to Gary Rossington and Skynyrd music

Short video about the passing of Gary Rossington plus a bit of info about Skynyrd's influence on me and why I make these tutorial and performance videos. I make my living as a recording engineer and mixer plus doing concert sound. Skynyrd was the band that sparked the whole thing off.
Poison Whiskey - Lynyrd Skynyrd Cover

Lynyrd Skynyrd cover of Poison Whiskey from the first album "Pronounced 'Lĕh-'nérd 'Skin-'nérd'. Ed co-wrote this song with Ronnie and his bass playing and groove are spectacular! He had grits and grease in his soul despite being from Southern CA. This is a great song for guitarists to find that swampy groove and look for the space in between the notes. Very special thanks to my pal Bob Vitti f...

My cover of That Smell by Lynyrd Skynyrd with guitar parts shown. Hope it helps you to learn this amazing song. It's certainly their most complex guitar song and I can only imagine where things would've gone from here.

Crystal Ball - Styx Cover

Recorded during the Covid 19 quarantine. Might as well isolate in the studio. I had some help on background vocals from the drummer in my band Dan and his wife Lorri. It's fun to pick these songs apart and see what makes them tick.

Covid quarantine 2020. Steely Dan this time. Lead guitar is the Firebird through a Fulltone Soul Bender into my 1974 Marshall 50 Watt. Juicy.
Beatles ADT (Artificial Double Tracking) with an Echoplex & Variac
Просмотров 8 тыс.4 года назад
Trying to recreate the ADT technique developed by Ken Townsend of Abbey Road that appeared on a lot of Beatles songs. The Variac is a variable voltage transformer that allows me to change the speed of the Echoplex by sweeping between 120 and 100 volts.
And Your Bird Can Sing - The Beatles - Cover

Covid 19 isolation. Might as well dig in to some great songwriting and great records. Here's a fun cover of And Your Bird Can Sing from Revolver. Turns out the lead guitars are a Vox 7120 which has a solid state front end. I recorded these with a '68 Gibson 330 (like the Epiphone Casino) through a Dr Z Stangray and then put a UA-610B plug in on it for a bit of extra buzz. Pretty close. Super co...
How To Play Workin For MCA - Lynyrd Skynyrd - Show And Tell
Просмотров 53 тыс.4 года назад
How to play Workin for MCA by Lynyrd Skynyrd from Second Helping. Great guitar work by Allen, Ed and Gary. Filmed this during the Covid-19 quarantine and it's a weird overcast day in Southern California. Caused a bright spot on the fretboard so sorry if that's an issue. Good luck with this one. Ed had a very unique style.

How To Play Call Me The Breeze by Lynyrd Skynyrd. Great guitar parts by Gary Rossington on this killer song written by JJ Cale. There are some cool fills played by Ed King that maybe I'll get to on another video.
How To Play You Got That Right - Lynyrd Skynyrd - Show And Tell

How to play You Got That Right from Lynyrd Skynyrd's Street Survivors album. Some great and challenging lines from Steve Gaines in this one.
Any chance you would consider revisiting this lesson and going into a bit further detail I've been playing guitar a few years but never touched an electric practically until this weekend and always wanted to learn this song this lesson is great and straight forward but would love to see a longer version
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO PLAY THE PINCH HARMONICS AT 0:13 AND 0:17
At 0:12 and 0:16, I’ve been trying so hard to figure out how you and Gary get that amazing fading scream on the guitar, and I cannot for the life of me find a video or figure out how you did it, any explanations anyone? P L E A S E 🙏
Where is the tabs?
Nice!
That was super! Hope I can do it 1/2 as well after practicing! Thank you!!
Hi. My name is Aaron Durr Burger
Thank you
Perfect cover! Loved it. Thanks for sharing! 🍺🫡
I swear if I could play like this and had this equipment I’d never leave the house. Oh that has to be so fulfilling.
Feed treat to puppy now!
Dang Dude! Really good cover!
Excellent!
Should be playing some incence and peppermints boy
Excellent on the money, especially Allen’s solo!
Damn this is amazing!!!!!!!!!!! Great job brother!!!
Great job, thanks!
So many great riffs from Ed. Glad Ronnie and Gary drove up to get him that night. Skynyrd wouldn’t have been the same without Ed.
This is just perfect for me to figure the whole song out
Hey Ryan, my name is Nick. I grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and Chattanooga.. I used to work for the producers, driving and crying, and then the black Crowes. Used to work on the local stagehand scene there cut my teeth on all that. It was (Skynyrd) it was (Skynyrd) that was such a thing in my life from the time being nine years old when they died in the plane crashed some of them when I was 13. Fast-forward several years when I’m driving n Cryin, out of Atlanta, Georgia, We went out opening for Lynyrd Skynyrd and 91. It was a dream come true and man, Leon, Ed, King, Billy every day those guys were like big brothers super nice and I was just the lighting guy wasn’t even in the band, but they were the most awesome thing I’ve ever got to be around and it was like a dream come true and it’s affected me to this day. And some years ago a few years ago,, I dug in and really wanted to learn to play guitar and play these songs I love..and I never found anyone who could play those just the way they sounded the same amps, the same licks,, not someone’s version,,and then man I found your video, What’s Your Name, and I have been learning them pieces at a time.. so I am very grateful for your videos. your videos have allowed me to jump into that world And now I carry those with me so I appreciate it .
Thanks man. I grew up in Atlanta as well and my mom lives just outside of Chattanooga now.
Don't quit your day job😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
why don't the ladies ever lap dance to "freebird" ?
best Skynyrd song out there !
Ryan, thank you so much for this detailed instruction! My favourite LS song (that name is hard to spell!)
Just had an additional thought: it would be nice if you could describe your amp and how it is setup to get the authentic LS sound for this song!
Dam cool riff
awesome!!
great guitar. Nice to hear it all on it's own.
SUPERB!! Absolutely amazing musicianship!! Well done, sir! 👏
1:03 perfect rock n roll groove guitar

Care to share your chain? Thank you
OCD to 1965 Bassman for the Les Paul. Xotic SL Drive to Bassman for Strat. No pedals for Firebird. Just straight Marshall. Strat rhythm on left is Marshall 1974x 18 watt combo. LP rhythm right is Small Stone Phaser into Bassman
Great stuff 🤟
Nice job on the video! Enjoyed it.
❤
Really nice work man!!!!
Great lesson video!
Even throwing in the bass
Now we know why Ed was the KING!!!!!!!!
Very nicely done.👍🏼
Killer job
That sound is amazing and you were spot on!!! Can you tell me any pedals, amp (and settings), stock pickups (??) and toggle position for pickups. I'm so pumped to try this NOW! Thx
That's a 62 Custom Shop reissue Strat. I replaced the bridge pickup with a Dimarzio Virtual Solo which handles gain a bit smoother and is quieter than the stock 62 pickups. The main rhythm part up front is the seconds position (bridge and middle). No pedals. Guitar straight into my 1974 Marshall 50w with the volume around 6, maybe a touch less. I'll usually turn the bass and mids up on an old Marshall and keep the treble and presence around 4 or 5.
@@RyanWilliamsMusic Thx buddy!!!
Great demo The solos switch back and forth between A minor and A major pentatonic positions depending on who is playing them
Fabulous job
@RyanWilliamsMusic Awesome backing track!! Is there any chance in h$ll I can get a version without the two vocal runs from 2:31 - 2:39 ?
❤
